Diamonds are made entirely transparent crystals of carbon. They are the second most stable form of carbon and the only type of gemstone that is composed of a single element. They are valuable to the jewelry business and industry practices due to its hardness and high light scattering.
Of all known, of course, minerals, diamonds are the hardest. Very few substances are able to do a scratch on the surface of a diamond. Because of this property, diamonds are often used as an abrasive to other materials or finish for polishing and cutting other diamonds.

Boron produces the gray-blue diamonds, and irradiation of alpha particles cause a green tone. The plastic deformation, a physical irregularity diamond may be the cause of brown diamonds or pink and red diamonds rarely.
The coloration may increase or decrease the commercial value of a diamond, regardless of who is a non-conflict diamonds or blood diamonds. It depends on the intensity and the aesthetic qualities of color, and visual defects that the coloring process may have caused. Intense blue or pink diamonds are very valuable, although white diamonds may fall in value if they are a light yellow color.
